GiftedImpact Site Supervisor

Join us and help young people grow in confidence! TheGifted Arts seeks a unique cohort of talented part-time after school Site Supervisors to join us beginning this Fall for the 2021-22 academic school year for our GiftedImpact school program partnerships. 

Site Supervisors work directly with the Assistant Director to lead TheGifted Arts after-school programming that engages up to 100 elementary and middle school students and a team of up to four part time staff of GiftedProducers (designated artistic instructors) in a high energy, artistic and innovative experience. This is an exciting opportunity to both join in the leadership and drive a creative culture community. Highly attractive Site Supervisors have a passion for community building, social justice, peer leadership, youth development and the performing arts. 

Sample Schedule

Site Supervisors serve weekdays (Monday - Thursday, select Fridays), between the hours of 2:00pm - 6:30 pm. Availability for staff meetings and training will be required as well. 

HOW YOU LEAD

  • Demonstrated ability to both embody and efficiently incorporate TheGifted Arts Four Movements of Symphony: Critical Thinking, Literacy, Presentation, and Professionalism 

  • Develop and model strong community culture among staff, students, families and community based on TGA values

  • Develop, manage and maintain key relationships with school administration and faculty, as the liaison between school and local office 

  • Oversee the delegation and timely completion of assigned tasks/projects for staff 

  • Oversee the creation, implementation and execution of a high quality, culturally rich curriculum and end of session production 

  • Monitor participant performance, offering both praise and constructive feedback to encourage growth and long-term engagement for staff and students

  • Encourage active engagement and follow through

  • Collaborate with Assistant Director and/or Program and Operations Manager to establish an effective program calendar for staff, students, families and school and help lead on meetings, events, training and communications

  • Assist in the development of student recruitment and retention strategies

  • Manage and document school partner logistics, including enrollment forms, attendance, incident reports, data and evaluation

  • Co-manage site budget with Assistant Director

  • Ensure health, safety and compliance of all staff and students as mandated by school district and TGA standards

  • Complete TheGifted Arts orientation prior to onboarding

  • Demonstrated ability to inspire others to embrace the arts, build confidence and commit to excellence

WHAT YOU BRING

All candidates should have demonstrated leadership skills, a passion for education and community, and effective collaboration skills. Other qualifications include:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional or trained experience in your area of artistry, i.e. demonstrated expertise in one’s artistry

  • Previous experience working with youth, elementary and middle school children ideal

  • Energy, enthusiasm, excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to consistently set and meet or exceed ambitious goals

  • Superior relationship management skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable and confident with public speaking

  • Strong project and time management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, teaching credential, certification, preferred

  • Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: Dance, Drama/Theater, and Stepping/Step-dance

  • Special qualifications are a plus (First Aid, CPR/AED certified) and/or training may be required 

  • Spanish skills, a plus 

BENEFITS

Supervisors in year one with TheGifted Arts will earn a base hourly wage of  $15.00. Supervisors will receive paid training and orientation as a part of this role. This position does not currently include health benefits.
