GiftedProducer - Role Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Join us and help young people grow in confidence! TheGifted Arts seeks a unique, diverse cohort of talented part-time Gifted Producers (GP) to join us beginning this Fall for the 2021-2022 academic school year for our GiftedImpact after-school program partnerships. 


Producers are hands-on and deliver engaging artistic experiences for elementary and middle school participants at partner schools in Wake County over an eighteen (18) week session. 


Love the arts? We seek individuals that have artistic abilities in some or all of the following fields: Dance, Drama/Theater, Stepping/Step-dance. 


Sample Schedule

GiftedProducers serve weekdays (Monday - Thursday), between the hours of 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Availability for staff meetings and training will be required as well. 


HOW YOU LEAD

  • Demonstrated ability to both embody and efficiently incorporate the mission of TheGifted Arts into an eighteen (18) week session

  • Create, manage and deliver a 60 minute, eighteen-week session that accommodates all ages in your designated artistry 

  • Lead instruction for a minimum class size of twenty participants

  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of participants

  • Encourage active engagement and models responsible behavior

  • Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, age and developmentally appropriate, and consistent with the mission and values of TheGifted Arts

  • Monitor participant performance, offering both praise and constructive feedback to encourage growth and long-term engagement

  • Assist with the promotion, recruitment and enrollment of class participants

  • Adhere to TheGifted Arts policies, procedures, and program standards, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, safety, cleanliness standards, and COVID-19 guidelines

  • Complete TheGifted Arts mandatory orientation


WHAT YOU BRING

  • At least 16 years of age

  • Previous experience working with youth, elementary and middle school children ideal

  • Energy, enthusiasm, excellence

  • Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: Dance, Drama/Theater, and Stepping/Step-dance

  • Special qualifications are a plus (First Aid, CPR/AED certified) and/or training may be required 

  • Spanish skills, a plus 


BENEFITS

Producers in year one with TheGifted Arts will earn a base hourly wage of  $10.00. GiftedProducers will receive paid training and orientation as a part of this role. This position does not currently include health benefits.
