Meet Hollywood

Meet Hollywood, aka Michael Lassiter, a seasoned performer and multi-talented artist who's been lighting up the stage with TheGifted Arts for over a decade. From his very first cartwheel on the East Garner Stage, Michael knew that the arts was where he belonged. His journey began in dance, where he quickly found his rhythm, before diving into musical theater, fashion, and acting – both theatrical and commercial.

With credits like "Eugene Williams" in Theatre Raleigh’s “Scottsboro Boys,” "young Lola" in NC Theatre’s “Kinky Boots,” and the unforgettable role of “Eric” in Power Book III Raising Kanan, Michael's versatility shines through in every performance. But his talents don't stop there. Michael is also deeply involved in his community, serving as the President of Garner Magnet High School’s Black Student Union, a key player on the Varsity Tennis team, and a valued member of various school committees.

Balancing his academic achievements with his passion for the arts, Michael has consistently excelled, earning the International Baccalaureate award 'Balanced' for his ability to maintain excellent grades while pursuing a career in entertainment and staying active in school life. Now, as he prepares to embark on his collegiate journey at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, Michael embraces the new chapter ahead with his trademark enthusiasm and determination.

In his solo performance, "Sweet Honey Buckin," Michael's years of training, learning, and experiences come together in a captivating display of skill and artistry.
